There are times in our lives, especially during trying times, that we wonder why those things happen to us. Our trials are even magnified when we are surrounded by people who seem to have no problems at all, and they have it all going for them.
We may not have all the answers at the moment, but the best thing to do during these times is to hold on. We may get impatient, irritable, angry, sad, or even depressed, but all of these are normal reactions to those circumstances. Hold on, hoping that tomorrow brings a new day, a new hope, a new beginning.
In all of these, the time will come soon or even much later, the realization, that these things happen maybe for the following reasons:
1. to mold us
2. to know ourselves
3. to know the people who surround us
4. to know our purpose
5. to fulfill our purpose
Holding on sometimes is easier said than done. There are times that it is easier to give up, to get angry, to withdraw. But it becomes easier with the presence of persons who listen, who believe, and who have faith in us despite our circumstances. Sometimes they don't need to speak a word. Sometimes they only need to make us feel that they are there for us.
But what if, in spite of the their presence in our lives, we still feel that we have no one to turn to? We are too caught up by our situations that it is too hard to receive external help. We only have to look inside, for we have ourselves. Each person has the self to believe in him. Each person has a friend in himself. Believe in yourself. Accept yourself. Love yourself. Be good to yourself. Accomplishing these will open up a whole new perspective of the world, the people around us, and even our circumstances, and you will emerge a new person with a new perspective, a new purpose, a new reason to live.
Perhaps, these are the reasons why those things even happened in the first place.
